Tissue is defined as an organization of similarly specialized cells that together perform certain.
TYPES OF TISSUES
Primarily 4 types
A.EPITHELIAL TISSUE
Composed of closely aggregated polyhydral cells with very little intercellular substance
FUNCTIONS
Covering and lining of surfaces (eg skin) absoption (eg Intestine) Secretion(eg epithelial cells of glands)
Absence of blood vessels.
B.CONNECTIVE TISSUE
Intercellular material is maximum and cellular component is minimum.
Posses cell fibers, ground substance & tissue fluid
FUNCTION
Connects & binds cells and oragans
Provide tight covering for deeper structure
C.MUSCLE TISSUE
Muscle is contractile tissue which brings moments ®arded as motor of the body
covers about 40-50% of body
Composed of 75%fluid & 25% solid matter
D.NERVOUS TISSUE
Neuron or nerve cells are the fundamental units
Vary considerably in size & shape but too small to be seen by nacked eyes.
